Hi!

My dad's laptop has been getting the BSOD with this error:

***STOP: 0x0000007B (0XBA4CF524 0XC0000034 0X00000000 0X00000000)

The computer restarts and keeps looping back to the screen. I've tried the Google answers but none have been working.

It's a IBM Thinkpad R60.

Sounds as if the boot volume on the harddrive has been damaged. Do you happen to have the repair CD? Is this windows XP?

Not sure if this applies to u but..

That error code says that you have an inaccessible boot device - which means that Windows cannot read data from the system or boot partition.

This could be caused by hard disk errors & the first thing you should do is configure your pc to boot from the CD drive (using the Windows boot option screen - or if not by going into the BIOS), then boot from your Windows XP installation disc.

XP Setup will load hardware drivers & then present you with a list of 3 options. Press R to load the Recovery Console.

When the RC loads it will find your Windows installation for you to log onto - using your Administrator password.

Then use chkdsk /r for chkdsk to scan your HD for errors & repair them.

If you don't have an XP installation disk and you have another PC available to you, you can download an XP ISO and burn it to a disc and use that. Don't ask for any links here, PM me instead.
