SOLVED:):):):):):)Hi, i just got my 2ds xl from a guy. It's a brand new one, but when we tried to turn it on, we figured out it wouldn't boot. We didn't panic and he was convinced it would start anytime soon and he didn't charge it, so we thought maybe it would be the battery. Actually he was concerned and sure it would boot so i assume he was honest. I got it for less he said but i now have a 2ds xl that flashes a blue light for 1 second and then the blue light turns off again.
I believe it's something related to the r4 , so i tried to exchange the r4 download files with newer one, and i thought it would help, but nothing changed at all, ain't no way i could enter safe mode nor turn it on at all. The LRUpA sequence didn't do anything and the combo select or start + power didn't help me.. The guy who sold it to me said he powered the n2dsxl 4 months ago and claims it turned on. I thought he may updated the console and made a mess. Any ideas of how can i reset it and turn it on? i have a flashcart, a R4 for 3ds, the one with "wifi" logo. He also claimed that he remember it had to power on only with 2 sd cards(wtf?) He said he didn't mod it but clearly it has a custom firmware since it has a R4.... I'm glad someone read all this below i can send 10$ instant paypal to whoever will help me because i think it's a easy to solve problem since i presume it's related only to the "sd"

The R4 is not sufficient for concluding the presence of CFW.

====
Does the blue LED fade off or go dark instantly?
Abruptly going dark is likely a hardware issue.

Things to try:
  • Remove any game (or R4) and the SD as well before trying to boot the console.
  • Provide a FAT32 formatted SD and put latest Luma3DS boot.firm on it (and nothing else). Try booting with this SD.

Leave it at default settings, press (Start) and see if Home Menu appears.
Then start here and do the finalizing part linked at the bottom of the restore CFW page:
https://3ds.hacks.guide/restoring-updating-cfw.html

The restore page will also add the HB Launcher boot.3dsx which I omitted above. Finalizing setup will install all needed homebrew apps.

That's really nice of you, but this is not a paid help desk; this is an open forum. I won't share my real life identity anyway. :)
If you want you can send a few bucks to GBAtemp via donation. The admins will surely be happy :)
