I don't see any part of that message being rude. You have to explain why you think it is rude.

In your message you did not ask for help. You reported that 94b crash. I need more information for a bug report. This is a very standard question, is it not there before? I think you are not new to using breeze for pointer search.

Your setting will crash for many games, but since you did not give details I can only say good chance to crash which I think is a fair statement. There is no point for me to try it on a random game. If it crash I get nothing as I already expect most game to crash, if it don't crash I also get nothing, there are games that won't crash which I also already know.
@TomSwitch so it's スーパーファミコン Nintemdo Switch Online 3.10.0 and the game is Demon's Blazon, because i wanted to redo the pointers of the games i've already done for 3.9.0 and i don't know how to rebase or ASM unfortunately.
However,by lowering the offset it doesn't crash anymore,is there a standard setting to always find the pointers for each game(even unity)?

Unity usually have deep chain and small offset. Most of the time the offset is smaller than 100. You can look at your old one to have a feel. Set the offset to be bigger than the largest one will normally be sufficient. You can also set the range and offset per depth, before you press R you can adjust. Normally unity is very easy, I just set 2 and 200 and let it go except the first one which most of the time by looking at the instruction that access the memory you can already see an offset, using only one offset saves memory ( unity normally don't need that as mentioned 2 and 200 even until the deepest Breeze support will not run out of memory )

Emulator is different. Normally there is a large offset somewhere, normally the first one. It is because the emulated game is static. You only need to find pointer for the whole emulator and apply the last depth per game.

2 800 keep going will crash but it found it already before crash. Restart twice and still good. The depth is surprising.

@TomSwitch thank you so much for reply,i found this for Demon's Blazon instead
2024100315091800-DB1426D1DFD034027CECDE9C2DD914B8.jpg
i applied the rest to the old addresses from the previous version.

testing new feature "make_x30_cheat"
target: KILL KNIGHT (v1.0.3)

steps:
1. search for target value/address
2. set breakpoint to get "target asm"
3. watch instruction to get "x30"
4. create cheat

00.jpg

1. search for target value/address
this one is my lucky guess, I started with "float 100" and got hit then "less search"
"8D9C" may be current HP "8D98" may be MAX HP
01.jpg

2. set breakpoint to get "target asm"
SetBreakPoint > Read=0 > Write=1 > Gen2Attach > Execute Watch
then go back to the game and get hit
02.jpg

back to Breeze and "Gen2Detach"
found target asm "str s0,[x8,#x1c]"
press "Select (x)"
03.jpg

test by edit code with "ASMedit (x)"
but "asm" is shared so I need to "Watch instruction (L)"
04.jpg

3. watch instruction to get "x30"
"Gen2Attach > Execcute Watch"
play game
"Gen2Detach"
select each line and press "X30_match=1"
my HP line is unique "x30:692c"
05.jpg

4. create cheat
go to "More (ZR)" > "make_x30_cheat (R ZR)", after confirm go to create cheat menu/window
06.jpg

edit cheat > go to "ASM Composer (ZL)"
great Breeze created cheat's template for me
07.jpg

need to change some code

save and go back
08.jpg

finally "Add ASM" save and test the cheat

Fixed with 95a. It’s out of memory with some game on 95 and the only change on 95a

95 store all the results, 95a only the results that are within +-0x1000 from where you start. The number of results is dependent on the game and my expansion of type of branch being captured tip it over to the crash zone.

another feature "watch register"

0.jpg

1. after found the HP address
1.jpg

2. "SetBreakpoint" to get the target code
after "Gen2Detach" select the forth line to go to code with "Select (x)"
2.jpg

3. then with the target code highlight select "Watch Instruction (L)"
to make sure only player using this code
3.jpg

4. but the code is shared and X30 both equal "90e0"
now it's the time to test interesting feature
select second line and "Select (x)" then input register's number and offset
I started from 1 2 3 4 and so on but 4 maybe the target

4.jpg

5. "Execute Watch" and play the game when
P2 x4=1
P1 x4=0
5.jpg

6. go back to target code
"Line UP" to "sub w9,w9,w8" then "Add to Cheat (ZL Y)"
6.jpg

7. edit cheat go to "Asm Composer" make some code

from "sub w9,w9,w8" to "sub w9,w9,w9"
test but not working, the game may uses "flag" check somewhere

* I don't know Breeze can save register and stack values at "Breakpoint' or not
(10 latest stack values at breakpoint something like that)

Yes, you can get up to 5 stack return address and you can also get alternatively get 5x32bit memory grab.
This is how you can get information that would be lost by the time the break point is triggered.
for example something like
ldr x8, [x8, 0x120] before the break you will never get to have the x8 before the fetch, but you can write a code cave and save x8 for to be fetched when the break point is triggered.
1728566794626.png
Set from 0 to 5

1728566820802.png
S=5 means the setting was 5 when you start the watch. 4,0x19ca3c4 means at SP+4*8 you have main+0x19ca3c4

1728567125383.png
Setting this to 1 means you are choosing main+18ca3c4 if you generate code with make match 1, and if you press ZL+X you will go there

If you hook this code and make a cheat you can save what you want to see when the watch is triggered.
This code save x0 to address main+0x51db280, you can make that the grabA address by putting the cursor there and then press the Set GrabA button

1728569110058.png

See screen below, Grab[A] is now = 1, the right panel status shows where you are going to grab if there is space left. i.e. Next Stack_check is not using all the space, to get the full x0 you can only set it up to 3 which then leave 2x32bit for GrabA
1728567612764.png

1728569000947.png
Currently it is not that user friendly, you can see that after the two stack value the content of x0 in the calling routine.

Congratulation, finding the memory address that can give you the effect that you want is the crucial step in making cheats.

The next step is how you are going to find this address again after a game restarts. Now add this memory address to bookmark. If after you restart the bookmark is still good that is what we call static address ( it has constant relative offset from main ). You don't need to find a way to find this address again. You only have to add bookmark to cheat and you have made your cheat.

For most game it is not static. To find the address again I can share two "easy" methods. Depending on the game one of them may be easier than the other. You can not make cheat for every game using these two methods but most cheats are made with these two methods.

The first method is pointer search. There is a pointer search button in Breeze, press it leave the other setting at default, keep pressing R until you see a lot of entry has been added to bookmark ( BM count on the left panel status ) or you are warned by Breeze to stop. If you are warned then press home and come back again. Now it is time to test to see how many of the bookmarks found are good. Play it a bit, restart a few times keep at it until you are confident some of these bookmark are good. Then add bookmark to cheat and you are done.

The second method is asm hack. Place a watch on the memory you found. Test the instruction that access the memory by watching what the instruction access, if it only access your target then you have found the hook. Proceed to write the asm to hack the memory and you are done.

Here is an easy example:
1731078990674.png
see money search money, at memory explorer set break point, you have to expand the menu to see the button or if you set visible only = 0 in settings you can just use the short cut without showing the button.
1731079119009.png
It will bring you to gen2 menu, here you press + then R. Go to the game then come back and press -
1731079289407.png
Two instruction access the memory, press X then L then + then R, go back to game, back to breeze and press - to see what this instruction access
1731079451680.png
see that is all the money each player have.
Given the nature of the game asm hack would require more work to identify which player so let's try pointer search

1731079665668.png
Pointer search has yield some pointers, now the question is which one to pick. Restart the game a few time and see if any of them go away. Then just pick the one you like.

1731080027999.png
Go to memory explorer from bookmark. Here you can navigate the chain, MoveLeft move back one step
1731080149511.png
You see six pointers line up nicely together.
1731080200942.png
Move the cursor and you see on the status line this one points to the other money.
You can move the cursor to all six and see that they each point to the money of the player.
This is giving confidence that we have a good set of pointers. Of course nothing beats testing but from here I have good confidence that they are likely to be good.

is it a bug or need to view the shortcut button 1 time before able to use the shortcut without seeing the button?

No, it should not be the case and I can't think of a reason why it would behave like that. If visible only = 0 all the buttons you can see when it is expended to the max can be used without being visible

yeah, I need to expand it 1 time because the page up button is not visible when open memory explorer, then it works in max view
no problem in older versions when memory explorer opens in max view on default, the page up button was in the background

visible_only is set to 1 by default. This is to prevent new user from getting lost, once you know the short cut you can set it to 0 and you don't have to see the button to use it if there is a short cut to the button. Expend screen is different from expend menu. Expend screen extend the left panel to the right and overlap the buttons but they are visible. The default in earlier version the page up and page down buttons are visible. The earlier default touch interface was compromised.

that is very strange, starting with which version you start to get this problem?

1731115977837.png
This is what I changed for each increment

Visible only should not be affected by these changes and changing between simple menu to full menu should not cause crash

What is your full setup? Did you change anything since the last time things are normal with Breeze like updating firmware, updating atmosphere, add new sysmodules etc?

This is what full menu button does, it set the option and set the next app to be breeze then exit which will cause breeze to start again
case 35: // "Full menu"
options.full_menu = true;
save_options();
envSetNextLoad(BREEZE_NRO, BREEZE_NRO);
request_exit();

The new debug flag of atm1.8 is a factor and tesla has been bad since day one with edizon applet but Breeze I have not much experience since I don't use tesla already for a long time, just know that it can crash with tesla. Gen2 fork uses more memory since the time I increase the stack capture to 5. I also suspect that with each firmware increment, the available memory decreases slightly.

Have you try with a different game running?

only started to happen with the new windows explorer versions

my bad, I forgot to set visible to = 0 after a new install, now it works without expand

@TomSwitch, finally found the problem, page up/down shortcut doesn't work when open memory viewer if using custom shortcut=1

also found the switching full menu crash problem because I renamed breeze.nro to the version name breeze96f.nro, too many frequent pre releases lately, so I renamed and run them via goldleaf and compare which version is better
