You kinda have to have CFW to run backups off of USB, Wii U can't run games you don't own off of hard drives, this is fact, look it up.

The person you are interacting with is intentionally telling you things that aren't true. We were able to install Wii U games to USB before CFW for the Wii U was public.

Definitely going to get a USB so thank you for letting me know, and I'd rather not risk a brick so a few clicks isn't a problem

I for one need the ability to load not so legitimate games so I nerd CFW

ZElda can be played with dlc without the need of cfw patches (free dlc ticket from eshop for the language pack is needed then). I use a 64GB USB 3 Stick, runs perfectly fine.

Would you mind if I asked a few more questions regarding these not so legitimate games? I downloaded a game that is for Loadline but after this thread I'm not going to use loadiine so could I still use the same files?

Nope, you need a properly packaged game, not extracted files intended for use with Loadiine. There are apps that will let you download the files you need directly from Nintendo.

use the usbhelper launcher installer. to find on chrome just go to the search bar and type workaround and then a large sentence saying download and run etc etc will appear.

USB Helper is just a way to download games. I prefer uTikDownloaderHelper with the hosts file edit, but you can download your games from wherever.
