ROM Hack BootNTR and Cheats Questions

Hi guys. I have been using cheats with BootNTR and Gateway to NTR Plugin Manager. When I launch BootNTR, it auto selects 3.6 I think, then I go to launch a game. When I launch game (Dragon Quest 8), the screen didn't flash green. In game, I was able to access NTR menu (?) by pressing x and y, but there was no cheat menu (accessed by pressing select). I checked my micro SD card on computer, and I do have a cheat plugin for DQ8. What should I do? Any help greatly appreciated :)

Yes i am having a similar issue i believe.... I use BootNTR for plugins just fine for other games. However for DQ8 the plugin i have just doesn't work... Yes i got it from that infamous website...

I am also curious how would they make the Select button for the Cheat Menu when Select already has its own function inside the game... Know what i mean? i did not think that you could have a button perform 2 seperate functions in a video game...

I am beginning to think that this plugin just straight up doesn't work.. Can anyone tell me otherwise?
