I know that this isn't exactly the best place to ask, but do any of you know how to unlock a Blackberry?

I got mine through... questionable methods.

So I can't just call up the service provider and ask for an unlock code. I've read that the easiest way would be to hook it up to a computer and reinstall the firmware/OS-thingy.

If that's the case, where could I get a cheap microUSB cable that works with my phone? I've heard that some don't charge Blackberries very well :/

    Phone Details:
    BlackBerry Curve 8900 (Javelin)
    Movistar (Not sure which country)

I've had this phone just sitting in my desk for a long time now, it's just that now WIND Mobile is offering a data plan I can actually afford, with the sale of SIM cards coming in a few weeks.
