Gaming Black Screen after Health and Safety

Im having a problem with my wii, when i try to boot it up i get a black screen after health screen. The wii does work when i press + & - and a at the health screen but it takes me to a strange mode and after trying to update it froze on the connect to internet and update screen. Is there an easy solution?

I just got it to update but the problem persists.

Do you have priiloader? Nand backup? Bootmii? Do you know what caused your issue?

I have no idea what those are and I also have no idea what caused it. The only other problem i've ever had was that gamecube games would also lead to this black screen.

No I don't believe I ever modded it and even if I did the update said that if there were any unauthorized modifications that they would be destroyed or something.

Is the internal memory something that can be easily replaced? Also does the wii still function normally in maintenance mode?

I wouldn't call it easy unless you already have SMD soldering experience and tools (or a friend/mercenary with them); it would also need being programmed with a backup that you most likely don't have (since you need a hardware programmer or homebrew, to create it, and it's now too late)

And of course, even if you had all the materials/tools/skills, it just doesn't pay (outside of the experience) to repair a $20 product... (that's the street value of a non-Gamecube Wii with all the basic accessories, including a wiimote/nunchuck)

That just means the Wii Menu won't try to load the mail database; if that was actually the only fault, you could delete it with a factory reset... but your other claims ("strange screen and not updating") suggest more problems

If what your saying is true that it would be difficult to a beginner and that you could just by another one is true then i'll just buy another one.
