PS1/2 'Black' dump to HDD

I'm having trouble getting the game black to work, it boots slowly, goes to the screen looking for mem card (slowly) then goes to a black screen and crashes. Been using winhiip to transfer games and apparently on the compatibility list it should work. I've tried HD Dumper too with no luck.

Booting from OPL 0.9.3 which is installed on the PS2 mem card along with freemcboot

Anyone got this working?

I'm using OPL 0.9.3 on mem card, no modes just stock settings. Tried other modes but no joy so far.

The ISO was from a hard copy I have and also tried from dump sites just in case it was a bad copy.

I just just saw that black want a certain setting to be set to 6. Do you see somewhere a setting called CBT in OPL? It's the call back timer.

Ahh no I haven't seen that. Where did you get that info from? I will try it too.

Ok, The CBT has been integrated into mode 1 on game settings on the latest build and is set to Auto rather than selecting a level. I have tried it and it is still running slowly but manages to now get passed the memory card check screen and to the 'press start to play'. So, it is still running slowly.

Ok, sorted it (spent all day on this) Mode 1,3 and 6 is required to get it running correctly. Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction, just that little nudge needed, saved me more time trying different combinations of modes.

I had a look here https://www.ps2-home.com/forum/app.php/page/opl_modes and read the info on MODE 6 about having 3+6 as a 'clean slate' so thought I would try that to start with.

It's strange because no compatability list says anything about these thees for black. According to them it should just work OOB

Definitely agree but for some reason it doesn't work for me apart from using those modes. That is why it's taken me all day to sort as the compatibility list seemed to suggest it would work OOTB so I thought I was doing something wrong. Tried loads of different versions of OPL etc with no joy.
