Story time kids. I recently bought a used hackable switch tablet on ebay that was listed as touch screen unresponsive. I have replaced many touch screens on switch units over the past 3 years.. Long story short, I want to create an emunand, but the connector for the game card slot and touch screen on this switch has a pin and a pad missing from the mother board where it plugs in. So this means I can not use hekate or sx os to make a emunand because touch function is required. Is there a way to make on with regular homebrew? Will older versions of hekate before the fancy GUI/NYX still be able to create emunand? I am so lost right now.

SD functionality is required for CFW. You've got brick if you cant find a way to solder your SD reader in using the alternate points on your system board.

If you replace "SD" with "touch screen" what Kafluke said is correct. There is no way to create an EmuMMC without a touchscreen currently since all FG payloads that do it, both Atmosphere and SXOS use the touchscreen. That switch is not great for offline CFW emuMMC + online OFW sysNAND.

Options are to sell it and get a new one with touch screen support or use CFW on SysNAND.

For CFW on SysNAND...
Nyx, Hekate's GUI, loads from some files in SD:/bootloader/. Deleting the right folders (or just all of them) will disable the GUI and allow you to enable AutoRCM and do a sysNAND backup.

Edit: One more thing is that "ChoiDujourNX" the homebrew that is used to update the system's firmware also requires the touchscreen so that switch cannot be updated to a newer firmware while offline unless the hardware gets fixed.

I think you guys misread, SD slot is still functioning well, the only thing that's not functioning is the touchscreen and the gamecart slot.

As for OP's query. You can still use hekate without nyx and you can control the menu via the volume rockers and the power button.

To be able to create an emuMMC, make a backup of your sysmmc using the barebone hekate. After that, use NxNandManager, the latest version of it has an option to create emummc using your backups.

Well poop. Guess I’ll sell this one and get a actual working non patched tablet then. I thought it was going to be easy like every other switch touch screen I fixed. We all get burned on eBay something ‍♂️ Thanks for your help guys!
