I recently lost my DS and my beloved yet slightly old M3 Real flashcart.. and I know have a replacement DS Lite but I am wondering which card to get.. basically all I need it to do is play my game backups with -
Maximum game compatibility.
A nice UI.
Regular Updates.

Oh, and sadly I am on a budget, so the lower the price the better!

For a budget cart AK2i.
But for the best performance, SCDS2 for sure. Tempers are on fire about DS2

. Pretty much everyone would suggest you to buy SCDS2 if you got the money.

Here's your best two options, R4DS for $6 or Acekard 2.1 for $13.

They both have the same UI and use the same skins, both have fantastic compatibility, and have regular updates.
The main difference is R4DS is restricted to 2gb, Acekard 2.1 can use SDHC memory. R4DS using Wood R4 Firmware, Acekard using AKAIO firmware.
Shoptemp have superb free shipping that takes most people only 7-14 days.

As many have said. AK2i is the best for a budget.
But if you have money DSTWO is the way to go.

And minus the hooplah, I also recommend a cyclo. I love it, it's always worked, and my bro will be getting one very shortly

By the way, how does compatibility updates work in DSTWO? Regular un/official firmware/kernels or it has built in systems?

I mean, I'm thinking about buying AK2i or DSTWO, but I mainly wanted SDHC support and reliable compatibility with ocidental and also (J) games. I suppose both of them are up to this, right?

the dstwo is the best in compatibility
you can be using an old EOS and it'll play games the acekard can't
they release new EOS once every 20-25 days, but since it has little problems playing games, it's mostly bug fixes, and EOS improvements
