That's ridiculous. You can't make subjective laws without creating tyranny.

It's illegal for women to wear pant in Tucson, Arizona and tt's still a law to this day, but it's no longer enforced.
I believe it should be.

And I will now move to Tuscon.

@_@

The truth is, thousands of years before clothes were invented but humans existed, there was an era of no clothes. The loneliest virgin made clothes to increase in popularity. Everyone laughed at him while he committed suicide, years later someone found his research and stapled what he called clothes to his Woman's chest.

Forever after that point, society adapted it.

----

If you couldn't tell that was made up, then shame on you. In reality, it's just some form of control adapted by our greedy society.

I think I like this state we are in. I would not like being desensitized to boobs.
... this is an interesting point.

its fine for women to go topless if they are 40Yr and younger anything older is just wrong and can not be unseen

Absolutely, it is a great point (that I was going to point out, but didn't want to risk going over quote limit). But really, it's sacrificing human rights (no, I'm not referencing the constitution, and I know that our government, of course, does not insure it for us), for a perversion, and if you think that that is acceptable, then...I don't know. Don't really know how to respond to that.

If that's the case, then you're only accepting of it for your own perversion, which, while agreeing with me is always the right thing to do, doing it for the wrong reasons is much less noble.

Also. I'm surprised that a mod hasn't come in and changed the title yet. Awesome.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have the same right to be topless, but I personally would not prefer it. If women do want to take that route, (although I don't think it would be an instantaneous or popular change) then I don't care. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it on a legal basis.

Yes, I do think it is a perversion of mine. No, I do not think this issue is a human rights issue, however. Equal pay for women would strike me as one of those, not this. Why do you think mothers start putting shirts on their daughters at a certain age on occasions when they wouldn't before? I think it has to do with one's culture. If I recall correctly, interracial marriage was looked down upon, but it gradually became acceptable as more people did it. If the ability to be topless was such an issue, then I think there would be more movement towards it. No need to try to sound so righteous.

much of that stems from cultural standards created by the celebrity phenomena, along with the fact that they're taboo.
Age of consent, prohibiting beer/cigarettes/porn to minors, drug laws, suicide laws, nudity laws, and any kind of "for the children" laws all stem from cultural standards and being taboo.
This isn't necessarily an argument for or against your idea, as there are a lot of problems with some of the laws listed above; just pointing out that random cultural standards are accepted as a basis for legislation.

Well, if you look just 30 years back, many women were topless at the beach (atleast here in Sweden) and noone cared. Guys didn't oogle, no one cared. and no, this wasn't at nudist beaches or whatever... it was just... normal...
And today, it's "enraging"... it's weird.

HOWEVER: I don't like the thought of my hypothetical girlfriend going around showing her boobs... I'd be "jealous" and think they're just mine to look at

You know...
This. My GF's boobs are mine!
