Hacking Best method to use now for softmod?

Looking to run backups, and possibly the SNES emulator on my Wii. What is the best method of doing this as of this moment?

I've looked and see quite a few different guides and am unsure of which to use. I've been lurking the last week or so, mostly reading the 'System menu questions/thoughts' thread. Is the CIOS pack the best method at this point?

Looks like I should start with:
Performing a backup of the Wii (can probably be found with a search)
Downgrading to system version 3.2 (saw this in another thread)
Install whatever the best softmod is available at the moment.

Thanks for any guidance that you can provide.

i softmodded a mates 3.4 the other day..

found the easiest way to get the loader goin was to use Twilight to boot Wadmanager then install IOS16

then use twilight again to boot the custom WADManager that runs from IOS16 to install the cIOS as a WAD and the loader as a channel.

this saves installing HBC and downgrading and such.

if your intent of playing ROMS and such then go ahead and downgrade as advised above

pm me if you want the ready made pack i got setup for 3.4 nottin fancy but it works. :-P
