What would be the benefit in transferring Pokemon? I only want to play GBA games.Depends what you want and need it for.
If you want to transfer Pokemon from the GBA games to the DS games, you're need an EZ-FLASH Omega DE or one of those "flash-once" (can't remember the name exactly) carts with a cart reader/writer. Otherwise your only alternative to the Omega DE is the EverDrive GBA Mini.
The Omega DE is a bit more finicky to work with, but is slightly cheaper than the EverDrive.
What do you mean that the saves get corrupted on the original? I mainly want to play back ups.EZ Flash Omega is the cheapest that is worthwhile*.
The DE version adds several features, but if you just care about playing games the biggest feature it adds is better handling of saves. It basically address some issues where if you turn off your gba too quick your saves can get corrupted on the original.
The EverDrive is probably the “best” overall and uses the least power even though it has slightly fewer features than the Omega DE. It’s also the most expensive.
* there are Supercard clones available again, but they are bad especially for GBA games.

The cheap ones on AliExpress are the Supercard or a clone of it. Compatibility problems and slowdowns in various GBA games, not recommended unless cheapness is your top priority.I've seen some on AliExpress/eBay for around 20€, they're purple with a weird greenish sticker. Those would be way cheaper but are those also capable of the writing feature? I've bought a GBC cart on AliExpress that does it.

I use an EZ Flash Omega DE with a Game Boy Micro and it works great for me. Do you run into issues very quickly or only after long sessions? I usually keep my battery topped off and play probably under an hour at a time most days. I can play a half hour session of Panel de Pon without issue. Battery doesn't go into the red all that quickly.Something that doesn't get mentioned too often that really should, if you have a Game Boy Micro, I would advise NOT getting an EZ Flash Omega DE due to how much power it draws in comparison to the EverDrive GBA Mini, which for me has resulted in games crashing ALOT. The Micro simply can't handle it unless it's plugged in to a power supply when you're playing.
It's fairly quickly but definitely more of a problem if one of the addons is active (Reset, Savestate, Cheat, etc)I use an EZ Flash Omega DE with a Game Boy Micro and it works great for me. Addons shouldn't affect battery life very much, based on how it is implemented. Have you measured addons reducing batterylife? It's fairly quickly but definitely more of a problem if one of the addons is active (Reset, Savestate, Cheat, etc)
