Hacking Best 3DS firmware for Hacking/Homebrew

My 3DS is on firmware 4.1.0-8U. I plan on buying a flashcard in the future, and I would like to know if it is OK for me to upgrade my firmware right now, or if I should keep it on this version for compatibility with flashcards in the future.

You can update to 4.5.X to get a better compatibility but otherwise it's fine.

Sorry, I didn't look in that particular sticky because I assumed it was only used to ask questions, and that the OP wouldn't answer anything.

I think I'm going to use my friend's copy or Animal Crossing to update my 3DS to 4.5 and leave it there.

animal crossing usa is 5.1, only the europe version is 4.5........just a heads up
