Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been experimenting with homebrew on my Nintendo DSi, and I had a crazy idea—what if I turned my DSi into a multi-tool hacking device, kind of like a Flipper Zero? 🤯

Right now, I have:
✅ Unlaunch + Twilight Menu++ installed
✅ Homebrew apps like nFTP, GodMode9i, and WiFi tools
✅ A plan to develop Ben’s Mod, a custom hacking/modding tool for DSi

What I Want to Achieve

I want to turn my DSi into a powerful network & system modding tool, with features like:
🔹 WiFi scanning & network monitoring (maybe WEP cracking?)
🔹 Wireless file transfers & NAND dumping
🔹 A terminal-like command system for running scripts
🔹 Possible RFID/NFC reading/writing (if I can connect an external reader)
🔹 A custom UI for Ben’s Mod, making it easy to use

What I Need Help With

I know this is a huge project, so I’m looking for suggestions, advice, and any existing homebrew that might help. Specifically:
1️⃣ Are there any existing tools for WiFi scanning or network testing on DSi?
2️⃣ What’s the best way to build a custom DSi homebrew app (DevKitPro, libnds, etc.)?
3️⃣ Has anyone experimented with external RFID/NFC readers on DSi?
4️⃣ Any other cool hacking tools I should check out?

I think this could be a fun and useful project, and if it works, I’d love to share it with the community!

Respectfully how is this news? You dont even have a basic homebrew app going

And from that list you wrote about what you need help with..it doesnt even sound like you can do much more then a hello world NDS homebrew

I wish you luck but the project isnt even started yet

Where can i find nFTP? I'm looking for a homebrew for comunnication DSi with Total Commander over wpa2 wifi lan connection. Removing SD card everytime I want to copy savefile or test small size homebrew seems pointless.
....
Ok I found what I was looking for, "ftdp" ftp server works like a charm and support wpa2 dsi connection since v3.2.0.

How did you get ftdp working on your Dsi?

I've got unlaunch and TWLM++ v27
I tried to make it work previously year ago but this homebrew didn't have that update.
It came with big update to modern wi-fi protocols in libnds 2.0 and happened in the november last year.
we speaking about at least this version:
https://github.com/mtheall/ftpd/releases/tag/v3.2.0
about total commander settings we need to set
[host name:[port]] -> 192.168.0.110:5000
where 192.168.0.110 is your DSi static IP
user: root
no password
first of all make sure that your DSi is visible in DHCP client list on your router and set ip adress reservation.

Thanks for this info. I did update my twilight menu and now it works. It's brilliant for transferring small files. 👍👍👍
