Before I update

Im currently on fw 20.5. Upgraded to play Metroid Prime 4 before that i was on FW19 for a long long time, and I kind of regret it. It broke compatibility with SM64(which I've since fixed) and my Ship of Harkinian custom nsp. I want to upgrade to 21.2 now to play Pokemon Ruby and some other games. What do I risk losing if I do so so I can weigh out my options? Will SM64 stop loading again?

UPDATED APPS for new firmware 21.0.0 (download the MODDED files if there is no official release for FW 21.0.0). USE the modded files with CAUTION. Not all modded apps have been tested.

You could just use any of the GBA emulators for Switch to play Fire Red. It's a GBA game, after all.

true but theres also another game i want to play. Namely LoK Defiance Remastered if thats indeed a real NSP, as the game has been delayed as far as im aware.

theres no way to bypass right? i remember earlier games i was able to bypass required firmware with Goldleaf . but were talking really early days. and my memory may be wrong also.
