For two consecutive days I've been having a dream, or say, nightmare that consists of a normal day and then later on (perhaps at night) people becom somewhat like zombies and whenever they heard a noise their ears bleed out. Afterwards, it's defend for themselves (or ourselves) until the next day. Strange thing is, I keep sleeping so I don't mind going with it.

I know this could seem like something from the movie "The Purge" but god damn this isn't something very pleasant to be dreaming about.

Next time you get that dream, remember to have some insane amounts of guns and ammo.. ..and take those with you though this Zombie town in a tank-like car, that is full of spikes and blades attached to it, a-lá Mad Max Style!! :creep:

But really, seems like I'm joking (maybe a little..), but not really! ...About this monster dreams that you can't really explain why they keep happening, the best thing to get rid of them is to kick it in the butt hard... The relevance of the dream will then get away, and with it, the dream itself.

As an example, I had a dream where a half ghost/half monster girl would jump in my face, to annoy and scare me... ....I then said to her, in the dream, "get out of here you bitch!" and punched her right in the face... ..the punch was so strong that I woke-up during it, ending up punching my wall in real life ...true story ...my hand hurt a bit, but that bitch never came back :tpi:

do you sleep with the tv "on" in the background while sleeping? maybe you got to hear a few zombies movies in the night that trigger that dream

Sort of reminds me of a dream I had when I was about four where my mom turned into a terrifying looking vampire and began choking me while people around me were laughing. I've always had the shittiest dreams for some reason...

I get these type of nightmares if I talk or use a term that's affiliated with it. For example, the other day, I was mentioning of how Pretzels are so annoying. The night of that day had me dreaming of a Pretzel rainfall. No-jokes; I swear. But since your case is a bit more deeper and darker, perhaps: Have positive thoughts throughout the day, do positive, relaxing things. It helps, prevents you from being distracted from those things. Also, after waking up; its common to forget your dreams--happen usually if things are going good and positive.

I heard that some dreams are affected by the food you eat. Try changing up your diet for a day and see what happens.

I have PTSD and have nightmares about pretty horrific gun battles once or twice a week and wake up in a sweaty panic, therapy has helped somewhat, dreams are psychological in nature and can stem from a problem you didn't know was a problem!

It's only a theory, but I think that the dreams we have is affected by our moods. The more stressed out you are when going to sleep, the more likely that you will experience having nightmares. My solution, try to keep yourself in a comfortable position when sleeping. Try not to get yourself too stressed out before going to bed.

I've been having several nightmares too. Apparently, the only way I can get out of them is by knowing that I am dreaming and then waking myself up. It worked for several times and then I started learning about lucid dreaming. I've been doing it since with some failure but if it works, I am completely in control of my dreams.

Recently I've been having nightmares about the world coming to an end like massive earthquake, great flood, zombie apocalypse, etc. I talked to a resident therapist who happens to live near our town to discuss about it, and he says it's due to me having a case of insomnia. Well I can understand. In the last 5 days, I would usually stay up until 4 AM in the morning.

Oneirology is a weird thing, dreams and what causes them still remains somewhat a mystery, I've my share of flat out disturbing dreams, but I personally don't think it's a sign of anything necessarily wrong.

Nope. And now that I said it doesn't work, it won't work.
You can use anything to convince yourself- don't make it food.
Just say "if I hold my breath for 30 seconds before I sleep..(insert result) will happen." It's the equivalent to the food thing, a mind trick. And hey, they work!

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
