Managed To get a beaten up switch with has scratches everywhere you could possibly think of, joy cons that came with it loose as well

i was thinking it needs a full housing, does the housing fix the loose joy cons or i have to order the plastic part that wears of.

what i want to do actually is take the switch with all its goddies and screen and swap out everything :D back cover side panels front touch.

or should i leave it for spare parts

here are the pictures

my thoughts so far it needs front touch costs around 7 dollars and full housing 40 dollars
anything else

i was in shock honesly but got it with a bomberman game for around 100 dollars
said ill spend about 50 on reviving the poor fella, but the kid abused the hell out if the switch. it proved it can take a beating

Jeez did the kid used it as a fork and knive for dinner? And also clean your keyboard or get a new one:D

Edit: Buy new digitizer for 13$ and rest of the nintendo shell for 50$?

still nice deal.

Should never have bought it, you gonna waste more money replacing the front screen, basically you have to replace the whole tablet, just to replace the scratched screen, a back cover which you can replace by taking out the Y wing screws, and the two center Philipp screw around the 5 screws joy con rails. It might be worth some money if it on super low firmware.

ya the keyboard looks like it has something living inside :D

i dont use the pc at all and it collected all sorts of things, might end up throwing it :
any thoughts if i shall go with ali express sellers or is there aonething better

changing the digitizer is very simple on the switch.

i actually bought it in hopes for another 1.0 but it came with 3.0.2

i might revive it and sell it.
im also thinking of getting the shell for my new switch and swapping the shell on that tortured switch.

the switch was abused i feel sorry for it, and yea my keyboard is awfull just noticed :D
last time i used my pc was 2 years ago :D

so what you guys think, shall i leave it as a spare as mariko revision is comming out in the comming month, and keep this as a spare or what.

i was thinking of getting the shell for my original console and swap the original one in this beat up switch, but i honestly want to just take the mobo/battery/lcd and swap everything including the rails etc, to get it back as new

If you are good at taking stuff apart, then go for it. The Philipp screws on the tablet ain't the greatest, they tends to strip base on people posting on forum. Cheap screws apparently

well most of the stuff here in egypt are from china and are the cheapest and worst screw drivers, will try radioshack we still got those around here and check for a full set

i heard the joy cons are the worst thing in the whole process, but im gonna have to strip it down, to do a thermal paste swap, dont trust the thermal paste on a console in that shape and change the digitizer, so might as well swap them

The Y wing screw ain't the problem, the problem will be the small Philip screws, which you only need to remove all the screws if you are replacing the digitizer. You gonna need a precision screw driver set, something from ifixit

will the screw driver that comes with the shell do the job, and which ifixit set you guys suggest

If I was you I would simply not spend much in it...

1- The most important thing is opening and cleaning as I see airvents are totally fed up of dust... Open it, fully clean it, change thermal paste to like Artic MX-4 (Else I think that Switch is prone to dying soon from heat).

2- Don't bother buying a new full case, buy a black silicon like protective case (it comes full console + joy-cons for just a few bucks like on ebay) and put on it and no one will see scratches again, they are pretty cheap (just make sure they don't close the air vents, else cut the openings...)
3- check it really good on the connectors of the rail and joy-cons to see if something is broken, if not, just buy new plastic holders replacement for the joy-con and they will most likely not fall again.

4- I would try sanding the front panel slightly with water sanding and then polish it all up to see if it works, because as much cheap the touch may sound like, I have had a huge amount of problems with most cheap touch non original replacements, some don't even register your fingers well or stop responding and it ends up Worthing 0€ for what already looked cheap, its better to try to restore to a very usable screen first and if it breaks then you buy the touch replacement...

ps: From the state of the console I think it might be prone to failure and I wouldnt invest too much in it, the battery looking at the state of the rest have probably not been treated well either.

thx for your reply guily, i was thinking of getting the transparent case for my 1.0 switch and swapping the original one to this beat up consoles, tried my new joy cons they fit perfect so these i guess need new shells and the plastic and they will be fine.
and for the touch screen i saw on aliexpress some cheap ones and some claim original, the screen is pretty scuffed actually playable but looks dull.
i am even disgusted to hold the damm thing, but was looking for a bomberman game and this bundle as much as i think i over paid but can be worth a spare part or 2 if my original one bricked or something went wrong.

my initial thought was spending on a shell as the joy con shells are in a bad condition too.

but never in my mind did i think someone will abuse something like this :D

yeah but the rubber like I shown above will hide the joy cons scratches too and you can buy in any color you want from ebay.

I bought a full case but clear too for my brand new Switch as its not scratched else I would buy all black rubber and hide it like I did on my 2nd used Xperia Z2 which is fully scratched, a black silicon cover and boom looks like new :).
