Hello,

I am looking to purchase a new laptop with the following specs:

CPU:Intel 2nd Generation Core i7 2670QM 2.2GHz (Turbo 3.1GHz)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
RAM: 16GB DDR3
HDD: 750GB SATA
Graphics: Nvidia GT 540M 2GB Dedicated VGA
Screen: 15.6” LED Screen
Other: Bluetooth, 2MP Webcam, WiFi N, USB3.0, Blu-Ray Combo, HDMI, 6 Cell Battery (5200mAh)

Before I purchase this laptop, I have a question to ask.

How long with this 6 cell battery last? When being used without the charger, I plan to utilize the Internet, Microsoft Office, Google SketchUp and AutoCAD 2012 ONLY.

Obviously, if the battery wont last that long utilizing these programs, I am best off considering another laptop. For this reason, it is important I know how long the battery will last.

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My guess is 2.5 hours tops. But don't take my word (really don't). I haven't owned a laptop for about 6 years now, for some very strange reason my unconscious was telling my conscious to tell you 2.5 hours tops.

Oi, AutoCAD... will this include rendering? If so, probably not very long.
If you give us the laptop brand and model, we can look up some battery benchmarks.

Were those even LCD, or did they have tiny lamps inside?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Veho, They were LCD games if I'm not mistaken with lamps inside.

Took full sized C cell batteries.
  • Veho @ Veho:
In the distant past before all these fancy solid state electronic gizmos, there were segmented displays with tiny lamps under each segment instead of one backlight and then an LCD overlay.

Noble gasses are inert, hence the name "noble" so they aren't really a problem.
