Yea xbox and playstation has established its name meaning it can add on numbers. When nintendo had the chance to add the 2, they added the U: Entertainment System, Super Entertainment system, 64, gamecube, wii, wiiu. They change the name everytime.

If it was me i would go back to the Entertainment System, but that would imply media options which it probably wont have. If i had a choice tho i would think 'The Reset' but by the what i hear is in developement it would probably be better called 'The Repeat'. All in all i dont really care for its name right now, all i care is whats to come. Hopefully not a bunch of wiiu games like we're all hearing.

Well, I would argue that reusing the same name over and over without a significant addition to the name causes confusion, particularly if the added word is a very common one. The "New" 3DS, the Sky3DS+, etc.... For example, if you go into a GameStop to replace a broken 3DS and you tell the clerk you want to buy "A new 3DS", they're going to try and sell you a "New" 3DS when you may just be wanting a new Old 3DS. Same thing with using Plus, which is a pretty common conjunctive. Researching these items online is even more of an issue since the internet can't pick out context. Searching on ebay or amazon for a new 3ds will yield you a bunch of brand-new, never used Old3DS units mixed in with both new and used "New" 3DS units.

Adding a number to the unit's name is not as confusing at it denotes a version update or upgrade and will not generally create confusion. Asking for a Playstation 2 vs. asking for a Playstation 4 is not likely to be a confusing question.

You keep putting "new" in front of everything and it doesnt sound good. It sounds like the ripoff that is the 'new' nintendo 3ds which is only slightly more powerful by a teeny tiny amount. no offense. I have no idea what amiibo2 is also. The shell idea is weird but its your vision so i dont interpret it the same way. But yea you outlined what everyone else is expecting. I think itll be something much different based on nothng lol

Actually new 3ds is more than twice of 3ds. It's just still slow to today's standard.

"new" word is so fitting the gaming world that ps4k code name is "neo" ...
"neo" is a greek word and means ...."new" ...


my names are only the hope they turn back to the old "nes" and "gameboy" ...
they need some "returning to the roots" effect imo.

NewGameBoy would be amazing.
just "NGB" , "engeebee" sounds so good...

but it's only a hope real names will be obviously more catchy...

anyway i would not rule out the name totally...
if you recall the gb micro ads they like to remember the old consoles...



Amiibo revision will happen likely with NX, amiibo2 could be the new wave they release for NX to use more feautures, they could easily sell games in amiibo form...de facto an amiibo is a DLC unlocker for many games , but they coudl extend the concept , ok this may be a nightmare for someone if ever happens...


the fact they put some rumors mockups in the starfox video is quite trolling from nintendo.
but it's also a way to tell fans to calm down a bit ...
since the video have nes and snes pad references it is very likely that those gamepads are not casual.
they made the video at least six months ago when first controller rumors appeared ...
Unlikely those were real hints about the final controller and the handheld...anyway could be really the case they read forums from time to time, expecially the younger developers, and they could have decided to make a laugh upon us with this nice trolling method...

at least emily rogers is now proven wrong ...controllers has "processors" ...LOL

You should say you want a new one, not a new 3ds. But upgrading to new 3ds xl is worth it considering 3ds xl was not much cheaper.

I thought they were fun, but now we have Mario Maker. If not a Mario Maker 2, they can just add in more features.
