Hacking Bans after 11.8 update

I’ve not really kept up on here after the update was released, has there been any reports of bans for using CFW or for playing backup online?
I have 2 3DSs(an O3DS XL & a N3DS XL) on 11.4 & a 2DS on 11.7 all three are on luma 8(whatever the last update for that was), I’ve dumped all/most of my carts(have 20 odd) and only got a few from freeshop before it went down. I don’t really play online, only really use the mystery gift option on the Pokemon games.

Nope, there hasn't been any banwave in recent months.
Is totally safe to update to 11.8.0.
I've only heard of 2 people that have been banned since 11.8.0 rolled out, and it was due to cheating online.
If you don't cheat online and don't play games before release, you're pretty much as safe as one could be.
