WELL A LOT OF FOLKS REPORT WHAT IS FIXED SO HEAR IS SOME OF WAS is not...
.......

AFTER INSTALLING CIOS_FIX.wad it ONLY boots in the 0.1 version of the backup loader and it may take a few tries for it to load 2! it often goes to a black screen after boot and just shuts of the light on your wiimote and freezes... so if you use this game a lot be warned Ciosfix wont fix house of the dead...
[/b]

You dont have the latest files that fix almost everything - your about a week behind , so please dont be confusing others by posting outdated information - also if your not changing the hook type on your version some games wont load.
You should really take a look at my signature and see whan the latest update was done and when the latest files were released and try using them instead.

Just took a quick look - your programs and versions are way our of date - your HOW TO'S are about a week and a 1/2 old
The versions your suggesting people should use are ones that have a lot of bugs in them compared to the latest working versions

you REALLY need to keep on top of this stuff or people will lose interest .... update it man. Your welcome to use the info in my sig if you wish, but ill be staying on here.

Nearly had a heart attack when a saw a backup Disc v1.31 on a popular torrent site!!!

This is the originally correctly signed version of Nintendo's Backup disc, which was left in a console after repairs.

Its 70 meg long I wonder if it will be useful any anything?

The only thing I found is that it resets the bios to factory settings and some other internal settings (couldn't find anything).

I wonder if this disc will unbrick your wii??

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Backup_Disc

It's only useful for transferring save data and other stuff (but no vc games etc) between Wii's. It won't unbrick your wii nor does it do other fancy stuff ^.^
In addition the disc was leaked back in February!

@wiiloader.com
get your dns resolving right... just checked some dns resolving sites and it doenst properly resolve..

A few discusses this a couple of pages back - its not really good for anything - it was discovered in Feb of this year and to date nothing has come of it.
Its one of them little red herrings that have people going off on different conspiracy theorys that manage to link up the disc being in the wii with the kennedy assassination, but it hasnt helped the loaders to date anyway

I just saw the WiiLoader 0.3 beta video in action, and boy is it awesome! Even the video of the game plays perfectly fine! But how's that possible? wasn't that only possible if the read speed was 6x?

I really dont see the point in it anyway to be honest - the info will be posted here and copied to there initially. This thread is where its all happening and just cause theres a handy name doesnt mean everyone will move things to there, so why have a site thats going to be behind this site on info and official updates ?

No - its optomisaed use of the 3x speed drive. The old code wasnt as efficient as the new one at handelling the data.

I dunno about the read speed, but I don't think the speed is perfectly fine yet. I mean, according to the video, the new loader update is 5 seconds behind the disc channel but then again, it might've been started late since I only looked at it once so yeah. Anyway, the ESR for PS2 can read games at near 100% depending on how fast your discs were burned (Namco X Capcom seems to be 100% for me with burning at 4X speed) so I don't think the DVD drive read speed for the Wii plays an issue here (Unless it works differently or something). I always thought that the only thing a modchip does is it tricks the drive into reading other types of disc media instead of only legitimate game discs, but according to others, it also modifies the drive speed. But again, I don't really know.

Which leaves me wondering what happens if they manage to obtain 6x speed on the drives.... if we are only 5 seconds behind running at 3x then if they unlock 6x id imagine that wiigator's loader could be faster loading than the native disc channel.... can we say Nintendowned....

Standard wii games are written differently - the read from the outside in instead of the inside out (or visa versa) - the copied discs read the opposite way so they need a a few changes to read which means they read at a slower speed.
As long as you are ok with comparing a commadore 64 to deep blue since they are both computers you can compare a ps2 to a wii since they are both consoles ... but there are one or two differences as well you know.

A 5 second delay is hardly noticable when loading a game - the loader now has a 35 second delay and most dont even mind that.
Also , this is still a beta and he is still working on it so there may be more improvements still , just some people demanded a video - i knew some people would bitch about these things even though they arent complete or released to public yet.

well we are promoting it cause we are working things out with WiiGator to make it his site to where he can post his news/projects/etc. without all this kind of clutter.
