Yes. Just tested it now on a small game. Md5 was the same as the original pkg file I used to install the game.
When you FTP to the PS4 go to: user/app/CUSAxxxxx/app.pkg.

Wait to the PKG's get cached on the ps4 even after you install them?

That'll make the pkg show up in the Debug Settings -> Game, menu ?
