Hacking Backlight problem?

Ok so i turn on my R4 scroll to my game, activate the cheats i want on Pokemon Diamond, then when i start the game the backlight goes off and i can barely see....wth? I'm using the massive cheat menu you get from these forum (except i slimed down the list) any help on this?

I found the solution but don't know what causes it, this only happens when i put more than 20 cheats on at once, so that pretty easy to work around i guess
