Has anyone tried using the backup loader to launch a HBC install disc? Or any other non-wii game disc for that matter? I would try myself, but I am lacking in DVD's right now.

I am not talking about another backup of any game system. I am talking about various burned discs that only worked with chipped wii's.

I Figured that since the loader no longer requires patched games it would be possible.

I'd like to play some GC backups, though.
Unsupported, according too waninkoko and wiigator cannot be done, if it can eventually be sure for a nice wait

That's why I said to my current knowledge, no.
There has been none (for at least what I've seen) of people trying to run those discs on a non-modded wii.
Unless you want to be an hero and try it out, then go ahead.

I tried it with a few things with mixed success. My guess is that anything made by team twiizer should work fine (I was using ISOs I had made myself with various homebrew programs in them).

What things you were succesfull with???

I got SNES9X GX working. I put SNES9X on the DVD and some roms, but I couldn't get it to read the roms from the DVD. I messed around with the source a little but no success. A few other homebrew applications worked and some didn't (I don't really remember, I did this a while ago with the leaked waninkoko loader). In my opinion creating homebrew to run off a disc, and making modifications to games is far more interesting than loading backups (somebody really needs to make a linux live dvd).
