AutoIt Error

This error has suddenly turned up and every time I close it, it pops up again. What is this file and why does this happen?[/p]

Anyhow yeah I will second a malware diagnosis- recycler (the directory used by the recycle bin on the drive) is often used to house malware although windows tends to stop it being read from.
Equally autoit (you might have met it if you have used batchDPG) does have a fair few pieces of malware coded in it (it is a really easy language to learn and quite powerful as well making the skiddies a fan of it) and regsvr.exe is the name a windows file which would certainly not be coded in autoIT (malware will often assume the name of a proper windows file).

After your finish fixing your machine you will want to run the following from the command line
sfc /scannow
This will check the system files for corruption (although it works just as well for replacing the files malware might have replaced)- that looks like XP so you will probably need your install disc.

AutoIT is a scripting utility, one benefit is that it allows you actually enter fields into windows that pop up if you know the field names and window names. We use it to automate installs for older programs that dont' have silent installs, or installs that require a lot of post install configuration that you cant automate.

Thus bascially you have a virus and the writer is using autoIT to install whatever they're trying to do in the registry but failing.

Copy off all your documents. Format the drive an start over.

DO NOT DO WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WERE DOING BEFORE YOU GOT THESE MESSAGES. Which most likely was
1) Installing Warez software
2) Trying to activate Windows for 'free'
