Hello all, I hope I'm not off the reservation here. I'd like to share some images I've been playing with using Texmod, PCSX2, and Cupscale.
For Onimusha 1 (Warlords).
PCSX2 in particular can dump just about everything EXCEPT the backgrounds and with accurate/ consistent .png file naming. this makes it work when upscaling and putting the new textures in the "replacements" folder.
I ended up using Texmod and an older version of PCSX2 to be able to select and rip the pre rendered backgrounds, unfortunately this method yields inconsistent/ randomized file naming for the .png images as they are saved. The images themselves seem fine (after switching the BGR to RGB in GIMP), they upscale great and look amazing! But the names are all wrong. I tried looking at logs and even an open console to try and see the images as they load but I'm half a boomer and don't know what I'm looking at.
I've got the object and character texture upgrades working in PCSX2 just fine, Backgrounds not so much (at all), just thankful I found a way to even extract them! if nothing else we got some nice wallpapers. I'd be happy to donate these resources if Y'all can do something with them.
Should I just wait until PCSX2 refines its texture dumping and try again? FYI this is the first forum I've joined in over 20 years. Thanks!
