Dongle:
yes you can use your SX OS Dongle to launch. You leave the dongle as is but put a new boot.dat on you sd card.
there are two ways to approach this:
1) Follow this section of the guide:

here they are giving you a special boot.dat file that automatically boots anything you rename to payload.bin (this could be Hekate.x.x.x.bin for example)
2) check out this source code where there is a link where you can upload your hekate.bin file and receive a new boot.dat in the Readme.md:

(make sure you rename the resulting file to boot.dat…remove any .html or any other suffix your browser might put on the file.)
