Hi guys!

I have two Ethernet USB adapters that I use on my switch when running Ubuntu or Android. These adapters do not work under Horizon OS. Is there a way to bypass this limitation in Atmosphere?

I don't believe so.

Correct. Just because it works in Linux/android doesn’t mean it will work in HOS. No way to bypass that.

Since we can’t easily add drivers to HOS we have to use very specific adapter That HOS knows about.

Note: these are all USB A so they have to plug in to the usb A port inside your dock to work.

The Nintendo Switch gaming console will only accept USB-to-Ethernet-adapters that are based on the ASIX AX88179 chipset. The only officially supported USB-to-Ethernet-adapter is the Hori NSW-004U Switch LAN Adapter, but any adapter based on the ASIX AX88179 chipset should work perfectly.

buy the officially supported Hori Switch LAN Adapter on Amazon.com here

buy the officially supported Hori Switch LAN Adapter on Amazon.co.uk here

buy the officially supported Hori Switch LAN Adapter on Amazon.de here

Or you can spare yourself some money by buying one of these (note that these are all USB3, which makes them a cheaper and faster alternative to the Hori-adapter that is only USB2) :

buy the alternatively TRENDnet USB3 Wired Network Adapter on Amazon.com here

buy the alternatively uGREEN USB3 Gigabit Network Adapter on Amazon.co.uk here

buy the alternatively Plugable USB3-E1000 Adapter on Amazon.de here

Sorry about a necropost, but since this isn't really worth making a new thread for and is what I got in search results for compatible ethernet adaptors, I thought I'd share some more details:

While AX88279 (2.5Gbit) is the discontinued (?) chipset everyone brings up, AX88279A (2.5Gbit) and AX88179B (1Gbit) are also supported according to ASIX themselves, as well as the ancient AX88772 (100 Mbit) supported by Wii/Wii U. Indeed, UGREEN CR111/CM209 are advertised to work with the Switch and some reviews claim it worked for them.

Unless the updated docks bundled with Switch OLED (HEG-007) use some other chipset, this is probably as exhaustive of a list as it gets.

Edit: Apparently Realtek RTL8153 works too?
