Asus Rog Ally X Bazzite vs SteamOS?

Any pros / cons / perspectives on Bazzite vs SteamOS (beta at this stage for non Steamdeck)? Haven’t tried any OS but Win11 on the Ally X so far.

I have a Steam Deck but I think this can still translate over. SteamOS is amazing if you just want gaming and some basic desktop usage. It’s extremely stable and tends to get big updates between versions. It does have the issues that the base OS is truly locked down and resets any problems you install directly to it. This is to say, if you unlock it and install apps through pacman, those apps will be removed with the next update. Everything else like flatpaks, setting, etc. won’t change.
Bazzite is based on Fedora and gets more cutting edge updates, so you get the most resent KDE releases and mesa updates. It also has a GNOME build, so options. Applications installed to the base OS don’t get reverted either. It also gets all of the same updates as SteamOS, so you aren’t missing out on anything.

I’ve been loving Bazzite since installing it. It has everything SteamOS and more.

I have a SD myself the only draback i saw of Bazz is when using the hardened package manager cli (rpm-ostree) you must reboot EVERYTIME to apply changes i heard of a way to basicly hot install packages (smilar to normal fedora) but have yet to found the right option flag

Lenovo deck, in all honesty. Asus portable, everything, has historically been designed like all hell when it comes to thermals.
