I think they will do that in May when the 3DS will get THE update, so every 3DS, pre-ordered or store bought, you will get free points

When I called Best Buy about the pre-orders, the sales person said the first 25 people with pre-orders in the store would get a free T-Shirt. No idea what the T-Shirt is.

Depending on your region, your mileage will vary.

Yes we get a screen protector and a cloth to clean the displays.
We also get three optional offers for preorderers only:
1)Trade in a DS or a PSP to get your 3DS cheaper.
2)When you buy a game with your 3DS it will be only 30€ and comes with a case for your 3DS and a few cartridge cases.
3)You can trade in two DS games for one 3DS game.

Only for Germany from what I've read,their Gamestop is not related to the USA Gamestop at all.
The only way to get a "free" screen protector at USA Gamestop is by buying one of their bundle deals at gamestop.com

Really? I'm all for the screenprotectors but I didn't know about that. That'd be pretty nice.

Aside from the fact that you'll get your 3DS before the worldwide shortages... It depends on your store.

My Gamestop is (unfortunately) not offering anything.

As far as I'm aware the only noteworthy bonus to preordering the 3DS is the ability to actually acquire it at any point in the next few months. My local store stopped taking preorders ages ago because they were up to capacity, and given recent events in Japan they don't see it as likely they'll be getting any more for a while. So if you don't have a preorder...you ain't gettin' diddly dick.

Thankfully I preordered mine months ago and almost have enough on my gift cards alone now, I only need a small portion of my wages which will hopefully leave more for extra games

Assuming I don't get shafted again. My wages NEVER add up.

Not sure if its 100% true yet, but apparently Toys R Us is doing a Buy 1 Get 1 Half on on 3DS games starting Sunday. If so, it could be pretty awesome. (Might get 3-4 games instead of just 2)
