Can anyone confirm whether they are or aren't?

In case they're region-free then the Americans wanting an NGC adapter so badly could import from Europe or wherever they're available for the original retail price.

This is how much they're going for right now in US:

Still an absolutely ridiculous price for a $20 adapter. Amazing how Nintendo seems to drop the ball at pretty much every given opportunity. It's like they want to fail or something.

Not like it matters but I played the PAL version of super mario sunshine with it:closedeyes:

Sweet. That's nice to know.

Nintendont on Wii U plus with the Official NGC Adapter and upscaled to 720/1080.. no need for the NGC/Wii consoles any more.

This sorta makes me want to buy an additional Wii U console unit just for Nintendont but it's still too soon as I focus mostly on Wii U games when playing on the console.

Wow, I purchased Smash yesterday, and was suprised I didn't see the adapter along with it. I spent several hours checking every game shop in my small town, before checking online and seeing there is a ridiculous shortage for some reason. For a controller adapter. How tough would these be to make, Nintendo, that you couldn't have enough ready?

Good to know, I think I'll import one myself. I don't know anyone who has managed to get them here in NA without buying the bundle (which has also been sold out at most places)

I just ordered mine when available from Play-Asia with express shipping... For some unfathomable reason, the bundle with the adapter may come later to the Nordics. Even my GameStop guy couldn't say for certain if they could honor my preorder on the 28th. They said they're definitely getting the standard version, though. I just don't want to wait unnecessarily long just to play a game.

I thought the japanese wii u adapter isnt released until December 5th? Do you have one presently or just ordered it? Either case you are sure that it works on US / PAL wii u?

I just noticed my mistake, really sorry about that. I have an American adapter on a European Wii U, works perfectly. I must have made the mistake when I said it's a Japanese one because I usually only buy Japanese stuff on Play-Asia. I can confirm it works, thanks for spotting that! :ohnoes:

Or wait till the next shipment, they didn't think it would sell that well, and those price-gouging bastards on eBay are having a field day. They confirmed via email that more are being made, they didn't tell me when however.

$50-$75? For that lump of plastic? :rofl2:

Thanks to those eBay tossers, yes.

eBay tossers always exist. The first print European edition of Bayonetta 1+2 is still going on eBay for about 130-200 euros... It's just part of life. Let's hope Nintendo makes more GameCube adapters available fast before the hype fades away... :o

They will, they replied to me via email and assured me that more are being made, however, they didn't have a date, I would think the beginning of next week or the week after at least. Having said that, I managed to locate and pre-order one online at one of many import sites. Grand total is 40 dollars for the device and shipping, those punks on eBay aren't getting a cent from me.

Source? Not saying I don't believe you, but I would like to see it for myself just to calm my mind.

An email I received from a Nintendo of America rep, I'll snag a screenshot momentarily.

Edit: emo kid 68 here's a link, I don't know what the rules are on screenshots, but I censored my name and everything. http://i.imgur.com/1rxzNI1.png

Thanks, that puts my mind at ease. I want to get one of the bundles with the game, controller, and adapter, but they're all sold out :(. I hope Nintendo makes more soon.
