Gaming Anything like JDownloader?

I really love JDownloader, but my brother can't use it on his PC, because it requires too much resources.
It's based on Java, that's why it needs so much resources.
So does any program do the same things as good as JDownloader, but uses way less resources?

You may try USDownloader...it isn't as good as Jdownloader, but it does its job

also one of my firends recetnly introduced me to news groups. they are far more reliable and generally have allow full download speed with any restrictions.

i'm currently working on my own download software for windows. but it's not going be be ready for at least another 6 months. it's one of several personal projects i'm currently working on.
