Is that link a current updated method/instructions?
Lots of links floating around with instructions on "how to mod your WiiU".
I wouldn't mind giving my WiiU a try.

Edit....and as you can see by my join date I am not a newb or troll but reading all the how to's it does sound like modding a WiiU could be a challenge?

Modding a wiiu is not a challenge it's probably one of the easiest systems to hack to run any game from any regional be able to play online ect all you need to do is

1. Download homebrew channel
2. Download mocha
3. Copy both to sd card
3. Insert sd into wiiu and switch it on
4. Load internet browser
5. Goto www.loadiine.ovh
6. Select mocha and wait for it to load
7 Job done you now have a hacked wiiu that you can install everything to

Notwithstanding the rude messages - are you looking to run Wii games from the Wii channel or Wii U games?

If you want to softmod the Wii channel that requires a copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl and an SD card. PM me for details.

If you want to run Wii U games you have 2 primary options - use an SD card with Loadiine or install games onto a USB drive via the Brazilian method.

At a high level the Loadiine mod doesn't let you play games online while the Brazilian method does.

Let me know which path you would like to take and I'll help you through it.

Yes this is updated. I used it last week with no issue, so is pretty accurate.

There is various options you can choose from but are all listed to describe how it works and what needs to be done. Haxchi is a safe method, requires a purchased Nintendo DS virtual console game, though. (Try finding one on sale sometime)

Coldboot being the most potential risk of all but best pay off as it perma boots to cfw on power on instead of having to enable it with haxchi or homebrew loader running mocha.

Either way all the information is in the link and i myself used it which is why i referred it.

The old method of installing homebrew channel on vwii was using a smash bros game disc with 2GB SD card using smash stack. Is been that way since wii u was released, i did it day one myself. Perhaps he not aware of the new exploit to install homebrew channel with wiiu homebrew, so it can explain things.
