I keep hearing it's supposed to be amazing and wonderful and 10000000000/10 and other stuff like that...
But I find the game average at best. I went through it and got the "True ending", it wasn't nearly as balls amazing orgasmic wonders as everyone keeps claiming. Without spoiling too much...I found the story got pretty stupid towards the end, especially with...uhh, some of the true ending things that I don't want to spoil. I'll just say the explanation for what they did was sooooo fucking dumb, as well as a character's dramatic change...It just feels like it was done "just because", without real thought about what the consequences would be towards the rest of the plot.
I also didn't think it was all that "sad" or "emotional" as it was supposed to be, it seemed too all over the place with jokes and the whole 4th wall breaking stuff...
I guess, for an indie RPG, it's an ok game. I think most of the praise just comes from people having low expectations for RPG Maker games, and Undertale just ended up being better than all the other trash RPGs out there.
It's alright. More of a good game to watch, I couldn't imagine playing it.
The combat mechanic is interesting but it must be horrendously tedious after a while.
Don't consider Metacritic for Top games. It currently has the best high score, but it has a lot less reviews than the other Top games that have been there for a lot longer.
I played the game not long ago and it went straight to my favs list. I loved everything about it and how the fanbase is growing and finding more cool stuff about the game every day. It is refreshing to see an RPG that goes the complete way around, and I'm not just talking about the "you don't have to kill" selling point. I loved the music, the gameplay, the fact that the dev thought about EVERYTHING and such.
There are things that left me a little... eh.
"WE ARE TRAPPED HERE FOREVER BECAUSE OF A BARRIER"
"Uhm..." *points at the hole where he fell from*
"...OF COURSE!" *they make stairs*
The end. Saved you 8 hours of (beautiful) gameplay.
...how can a kid beat the shit out of a bigass Monster King with a huge weapon? I know that humans are supposted to be stronger than monsters... but a child vs a full-grown adult? Why can I almost kill him with like a dozen of hits? Especially if you are still on Level 1. Are you a Sayan?
Lastly, major spoiler:
Y U NO SAVE ASRIEL GOD DAMNIT ;O;
I don't agree with some people who gave the game a negative review because "it's not the best game ever". They are manipulating the vote because, in their opinion, the game didn't deserve such a big point. Lmfao.
I also don't agree with those who say that the puns were too cheesy. Ok, I am probably one of the person with the biggest groans every time I play a game that tries to be edgy in that sense (never read -or read- anything while playing Worms Clan Wars). But this game... come on, they weren't THAT bad or cringey.
So yeah, I give this game my personal 5/5. Is this the best game ever? Naw. Is this a game you MUST play if you have Steam? Absolutely. I can't wait to check what else people might find.

This is what the new generation of retards looks like.
Can't comprehend watching something and being able to tell it's shit or not. Sad.
If it was something like Batman Arkham Asylum and I was like "yeah the controls are shit, I watched it." then sure you got me. But it's blatantly obvious a game is boring or shitty to play by just seeing it when it's a simplistic 2D RPGmaker tier RPG. At least for any gamer who has been a gamer for more than 15 seconds.
There's uh, these things called trailers bro. You ever heard of 'em? Meant to sell a game? how about gameplay videos? Yeah?
Go back to fapping to your average RPGmaker RPG, kid.

The title of the thread is "anybody here PLAYED Undertale", yet you gave it an opinion as if you've played it. Nobody gives a shit about the opinion of an entitled kid that watches PewDiePie.
And now you talk about trailers. Either you are so stupid to give an opinion to a game based on a LP as if you played it, or you are retarded enough to see the trailer and come up with an opinion about the whole game. Either way, no one gives a crap. Bye :')
Sadly Undertale is one of those games that's intended to be experienced and not played. If you treat it as a normal game, it will seem boring, pretentious, condescending even. There's a narrative the author wants to make the player experience. If you do not follow it, you will have a bad time.
IMO. I consider this game to be a Visual Novel with RPG + Bullet Hell elements. And has enough unique elements to make the game fun and unique from start to beginning. 9 out of 10 for me.
I do not think this game deserves a 10/10 . But I respect the people people who gave it a perfect score.
If you submitted an essay and you get 100%, does this mean your essay is the perfect essay and other student cannot get 100%? It just means that whatever issues or flaws the game has, it did not deteriorate people's enjoyment of the game.
Also Undertale is not made in RPG Maker. It's made in Game Maker.
