.. I'm not getting.

afaik you need to initialize a filesystem such as libFAT in order to have access to the memory card inserted into the FC.

I would take a look at the source code of programs that empluoy loading files from the SD card, and see how they do it. Undfortubatley i don`t have the time to do a lengthy research now, but with a bit of reverse engineering of known programs this should be trivial.
