Why don't you burn one of your backups first, try it out on the gamma backup loader 0.3 002fix via the homebrew channel and see if it works. You may just be burning them wrong. If that is the case... we can help you from there.

I don't think the media is his issue... he mentioned them working with gamma launcher, so this rules out what I was thinking... That he was using +R and not bitsetting.

He did say he got a backup working with the Gamma Loader 0.3, so that pretty much means he's not running on firmware 3.4.
