You should definitely follow the guide and update b9s and luma to the latest, and dump the otp and your nand and keep it in a safe place, I'd suggest burning it to a cd-r and stashing it away somewhere in case of emergency.

cdr is an organic material and susceptible to bit-rot. not very safe at all for such storage (stashing away).
For put it away and forget it storage a hard drive is better, or a robust USB stick. optical media is a no no if it's important things.
