I will bet you anything that I'm not the only one who typed 4chantards to see if you were lying. That's awesome.
But seriously though, if this is the group that backed up Wikileaks, then by all means, I support them. Well, I support Anonymous either way no matter who it is behind it. Curious as to what will happen though if it is the "dangerous" Anonymous that the media talks about.
Well the media often don't know anything about the internet so most of those stories on the Anonymous and 4chan and what not are often poorly informed and wrong.
I just feel like the Anonymous are more of a joke than something anyone cares about.
Do you honestly think the media can’t figure out what the internet is? May I remind you that 10 year olds can? The media only lets you think what they want you to think.
Off topic: There are a few corporations that control the media. There are only five:
General Electric, Time Warner, Walt Disney, News Corp, and Viacom. They control television, newspapers, and radio.
Would you ever hear about corporate crimes on tv? Of course not! That would make you wonder, or actually think. They may sometimes rat on one another, but not if they are all doing similar crimes.

I don't know about this. What can a bunch of 4Chan-ers do to a giant company like Sony? Sure, maybe Anonymous has quantity, but Sony has the force of the law backing them up.
That is actually not true. Sony has not won the case, yet you are led to believe that Sony's actions are just because they are suing. The law doesn’t back it up, but its money does. Sony imposes fear by threatening those opposing it with lawsuits, even if those opposing the company do so legally. To the individual lawsuits are incredibly expensive, but to corporations… well, this is a “normal” process as it is expected in the corporate world.

There's only one Anonymous and you seriously don't want to mess with them. Be it a company or an individual.
Really, they just vandalize or threaten people. If anything it'll just draw bad attention to people who support Geohot. If anything, the Anonymous will just draw bad publicity to what the public views as "hackers" and Sony would get more support.
Do you think the way Sony threatens its consumers is rightfully justified?
p.s. – I don’t think I am “bad” attention, but you may think so.

They're going to take down Sony like they took down Scientology, right?
....'cuz Scientology got taken down, right?
It is not about taking down a giant corporation. This is about standing up for something and making people hear your voice.
For example, do you think that the civil rights demonstrations held during 1960s did anything to bring down racism in the US? It was just a dream and they didn’t expect that much. Ultimately, it was Dr. King’s assassination that influenced Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1968.
Another example can be gay rights. There aren’t that many LGBs, but their voices can be heard.
The main point is that is does not matter whether you are able to single handedly take down a multi-billion dollar corporation, or a racist society against you, it is about standing up for something you believe is right.

4chan is currently DDoSing Sony.
NO WAI!
It doesn't matter. Sony has way too much power.
Anonymous lost against WBC. Do you think they can do anything to Sony?
Those in power work very hard to make you believe that you are powerless, when in fact that is just not true. Take for example the totalitarian governments that are being overthrown today.
In the US, Bush had the lowest approval ratings in the history, but he still remained in power. You know why? Because most US citizens believed nothing could be done. Most people forget that a government is there to serve the people, not itself.
