Gaming Animal Crossing Visiting

How does town visiting on Animal Crossing work?

I have no problem with people coming to my town or going to others', but I only have internet access for my 3DS after 6PM and I don't usually play it then (only on the bus to University in the morning and evening).

If I could, for example, leave the 3DS charging but running Animal Crossing so people could visit, that would be cool. Otherwise this feature is pretty much useless to me.

You go into your town hall, talk to the monkey to "open your gate" and then yeah, you could just leave it charging for people to come and go. But then there's not really a point to visit if the town owner isn't playing, it's kind of like playing by yourself so why visit another town? x)

Might want to be careful though, strangers will damage your town. (Only applies if you randomly add everyone who asks you to add them)

If you just want to other people come and see your town just make a dream code.
