It follows the same story as games? Like, a boy/girl enters the city as a new resident and whatnot?

Aye it's super true to the games!! It even has the same opening as Wild World did; with the protagonist (a girl) riding in a cab with Kapp'n And like, the first person she meets is Pelly and then the mayor Tortimer, then Tom Nook forces her into labor and all that stuff lol. It's such a wonderful movie I can't even begin to describe it. The main theme (same as in the games) actually managed to make me teary eyed X'D

I just finished watching it and it truly is amazing. Sure, there's like no real plot or anything like that, it's actually a pretty pointless movie in one way. But hey, so are the games, and that's why you'll love the movie just as much if you're into AC - because of the cuteness overload

Half of me is really tempted to cancel my Amazon pre-order and just hit Best Buy or something tomorrow instead. My item still hasn't shipped, and I totally neglected that the game was releasing on a Sunday, which means if it doesn't ship until Monday, I likely won't see it before Wednesday. Definitely not waiting that long due to a poorly made release schedule.

Edit: Or should I simply forsake my love of the physical and go digital on this one so that I can download it at midnight?

Aah I'm so glad I've got my US 3DS and live in Sweden, 'cause now I get to hit the sack and can sleep for 6 hours before waking up, starting the download, sleep for another hour or two and then get up from my bed for real and actually play - all day long

Okay, I'm going eshop on this one. Same price as the physical, so that doesn't matter. As well, since the game releases midnight EST, being PST, I can get it at 9pm my time instead of midnight. Win/win, I'd say. Just cancelled my Amazon pre-order and am ordering the eshop release instead.
