ROM Hack Question Animal Crossing Between Hacked and Legit Switch

Hello! I'm newbie. I'm about to buying a hackable switch to hack Animal Crossing.
I have searched on Google to know about Atmosphere and how to hack items also villagers in there. My question is as I can download free Animal Crossing from hacked Switch. Also use AC physical card to play in original firmware. Will the data split to 2 user cause different firmware or they still count as 1 player/1 island on switch?

You will have 1 island per switch profile but can send items over lan play from hacked to legit.

So far each switch means 1 island, u cant transfer the save data (yet), but u can download the nsp for animal crossing on the modded switch (its free), and use a legal game on the legal switch, conect offline and pass stuff from one to the other easily
