So, today Android 4.2 went live. It's being pushed to Nexus devices(excluding Nexus s) OTA.

But if you're eager to get your hands on this few flavour of Jelly Bean you can grab the stock Google factory images here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

I don't have a proper thread to make so I just made this.

I've been playing with it on my Nexus 7 for a few hours and I like it so far. But I'm gonna hold off putting it on my Galaxy Nexus.

What are the big differences between 4.1 and 4.2?

Multi user capabilities, gesture keyboard similar to Swype, lock screen widgets, 360 panorama photos, and quick settings are the most notable features. I'm probably forgetting something, but those are the ones that I can think of at the moment.

Edit: Let Google tell you. ;) http://www.android.com/whatsnew/

great now i have to wait 6 moths for it to come to Samsung GS3....
Gotta love Samsung! Most US devices don't even have Android 4.1

I love watching Samsung take forever to update their devices. But didn't Google release a tool to help make the progress smoother for OEMs at the last Google I/O?

I'm still stuck on 2.3, so thanks for the great support LG (Optimus 2x user). I don't think my phone will ever get an update.

It's amazing how, somehow, phone owners now seem to feel they have a right to an OS upgrade for their devices. How did that come about?

Even on desktop computers, you generally have to pay for an OS update (if you choose to use a commercial OS, of course). Traditionally phones have shipped with an OS and, unless there was some major flaw in it, you wouldn't expect the manufacturer to be constantly providing you with new features and operating system versions. People used to buy phones for the features they currently provided and accept that when they wanted new features, they would have to buy a new device. What happened?

My Nexus 7 is rooted and I am afraid to upgrade so I been letting the system (ANNOYINGLY) prompt me to update almost every 20-30 minutes. Just trying to play Golden Sun on my GBA emulator!!
