Analyst Suggests CoD Multiplayer Should Be Pay-To-Play

They already get a bagillion dollars on map packs and the games themselves.

This is probably because Activision gets pissy over Xbox Live. Basically they think they're the center of the universe and people only use Xbox Live to play Call of Duty... Sadly this is true for a good portion of people but it's still stupid for those who don't (like me). Pay-to-play on home consoles is fading out. Sure there will be payed services on consoles but they'll be more like PSN+ probably, which just gives you some bonuses but isn't required for online play.

Activision are greedy bastards though so I wouldn't be surprised if they did this. Although they'd get some horrific backlash from it.

They can kiss the majority of the player base goodbye then because there is no way in hell that would fly with CoD players. Activision is already making some coin off acquiring Blizzard and World of WarCraft is a pay to play game, however it offers vastly more content and opportunities then Call of Duty.

Considering that maps average out to $3 each people are almost paying to play anyways. Especially since some are just recycled maps from the first modern warfare.

Picture definitely suits this situation. Honestly, micro transactions would ruin the game. Examples would fall under: Purchasing perks, weapons, classes, prestige, etc... I would definitely have a few things to kill over.

I wouldn't mind people purchasing prestige, in which case it doesn't do anything but show how much of a douche players are.

payment should be made when the hosts are in charge and not on free play, ppl would pay but then not many would be able to do so
there would be less ppl but more money generated... i dont think ppl will not ppl, some are crazy about this game

Drastic changes in the world of CoD. Besides, how do you change the formula for a game where you shoot other people? More game modes? The did that too.

You can't update a series like that too much, no. So the companies don't, and they keep releasing the same game over and over again and making a fortune off each.

Actually, with some creativity, they probably could add a few more elements to the game. Dunno.

They should make it subscription. Its not like I play the game so I dont give a crap. And if they do Activision is gonna realize their fans aint gonna go for that shit. and if for some stupid reasons the twelve years across the world sucker their parents enough to keep this plan profitable, the parents will eventually run out of money and make it so those 12 yr olds cant infect anymore online communities! we all win..well except the adults playing cod mw. But im sure they still have their copy of halo rearing to go.
