Hi, it's been a while since I've used amiibos and noticed that a few years later they are very rare to find old ones.
I have a 3ds with luma and getting a switch soon, in the red box that comes with Mario kart 8 deluxe code, from my understanding new switches cannot be homebrewed

I collected 10amiibo and around 30 animal crossing card amiibos in my time and was wondering if there was a way on the 3ds to change an amiibo card say to a wolf link then use the wolf link on the switch to unlock bonus things in breath of the wild.
I've seen a few amiibo programs out there but unsure if any are capable of this.

Thanks,

From Elite.

You can't re-write an existing Amiibo. If you have a phone or tablet with NFC you can use Tagmo to make any Amiibo on a blank NTAG215 NFC Tag. You can get a bunch of them pretty cheap.

As you have a 3DS, you can use a hombrew utility called Thenaya to write Amiibo .bin files to blank tags.

AIUI you can’t turn one Amiibo into another because the format makes most of the tag read-only.
I didn't know that existed. That is pretty cool. Have you tried it? I've only ever used tagmo on my phone. It is worth mentioning though that only the "New 3DS" has NFC built in for amiibo. The original requires a separate accessory that can be difficult to get hold of for a reasonable price these days.

Yes, I have made myself some Amiibo tokens with it and they work in the relevant games.

@Veho, Sounds and smells like bullshit. They don't give you cancer, and California should know that. I don't get why they stick labels that say "may or may not cause reproductive harm or cancer".

Arsenic doesn't give you cancer either.

@Psionic Roshambo, Shouldn't preservation be legal tho?

@Psionic Roshambo, There's a lot of obscure Japanese arcade titles that are either lost to time or dumped.

I mean if a company could use AI to do the work of a home conversion for essentially free why not? The rights for some games are completely lost though
