Lol that's weird, well nothing to startling at the same time xD.

Now if all online stores were to pull it off, THAT would be a major issue.

this problem is very major, i get it on my top screen all the time, i am so lucky i installed a screen protector on my top screen would be gone by now.

Wtf. I don't have any issues... Yes, sometimes I have a 1 millimeter thick smudge line on the screen after having the 3DS in my bag, but I can just wipe it off. No scratches whatsoever.

I would think it should be fixed with a very small hardware/material revision. Are they over exaggerating or am I just lucky my 3DS is one of the good ones?

Mine's fine too, I think it's just people over-reacting and instead of blaming their carelessness they are blaming Nintendo for a defected system.

It's all about keeping it properly. Nothing more nothing less.

Turns out it's due to the wobbly hinge
There have been complaints of the two screens scratching each other when closed. Also there has been recent controversy over headaches caused by Nintendo's 3D handheld. A few hours later a message from an Amazon rep revealed the problem:

The flip-screen is loose when its opened, please inform them that Nintendo has confirmed as long as the upper screen locks into place, the unit is within Nintendo's design specification. Customers can call 1-800-255-3700

Wow... People get so paranoid over the smallest things...

Next thing you know, the PSP will get taken down for it's low volume, the DS Lite will get taken down for it's horribly fragile hinge, the DSi will get taken down for bad cameras, and the DSi XL will get taken down for blurred visuals.

LOL and iPhone will be taken down for how fragile it can be.

I wonder...for those people who got an actual scratch instead of just smudges on the top screen, are they slowing closing the lid down, or are they closing it hard and/or squeezing it while it is shut? I've always done the former with closing it slowly, and all I ever get are the occasional smudges.

How long has Nintendo been making handhelds? You would think that someone would put the thing in their pocket and walk around for a while before they brought it to market.

maybe they were encroaching on Nintendo's illegal yet legal price fixing?
