Hey everyone, hope your having an awesome day, Just want to double check to make sure i'm accessing full ram for retroarch, my numbers seem pretty off.

So I hold R on a switch title then root in retroarch, I know that is supposed to access full ram. In order to double check that you go into main menu> information> system information> then check your memory in megabytes, now everyone said you should see something like this

<not utilising all RAM> Memory in megabytes: 419/842MB Memory in gigabytes: 0/0

<utilising all RAM> Memory in megabytes: 3185/6374MB Memory in gigabytes: 3/6GB

but my number says 2162688/1451 MB which seems absurd and something wrong.

(as a side note, my n64 games on it have never ran smoothly, even with over clocking)

Am I accessing full ram? why do I have crazy numbers? what can I do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much.

If you don’t get the red message “• applet mode” in homebrew menu then you are using all the ram available. Make sure update your n64 core, also not every game runs smoothly in mupen64.

thanks for your reply, but my number should be around 3gb so i don't understand why it's that crazy high or messed up? could be the reason for my constant stuttering.

Your core is outdated and/or the game has compatibility issues and/or your settings are incorrect.

Ok, set the following settings:
Code:
Video -> Threaded Video = ON
Drivers -> Video = gl
           Audio = switch_audren
Once in the core options try only enabling frame buffer when necessary, all the other options depends on the game you are playing, maybe there’s an option enabled that’s stressing the CPU.

Is Mupen64 not the way to go? I assumed the Mupen64 core on the libretro buildbot was the one to use.

What do you use, and how do you update the n64 core?

really appreciate you taking the time to input those suggestions, sadly had all of them already on, has to be something going on can't figure it out, tried so many different things, the strangest part is if i restart the rom wherever i left off when i restarted it, the game will run absolutely smooth until where i restarted it lol strangest stuff.
