Hey guys, every time I try to use DSLazy I get this error message: "C:\DSLazy\ndstool.exe is not a valid Win32 application". Spyware Doctor then tells me there is a threat, a Trojan-Proxy.Ranky and asks me whether to allow or to block it's access (I block for obvious reasons).

Now I downloaded the file from GBATemp where a whole thread of people are saying how it works for them and only maybe one or two people claim to have my issue, which is why I don't think the file I downloaded is incorrect (although I downloaded it again to make sure it wasn't corrupt and that didn't work either).

I've searched on the forums for it, and have found that some people have had the same problem however their problems are never resolved. I googled it and someone told me to replace the "comdllg32.ocx" file in system32 and to run a command but that didn't work. I've updated the .Net 2.0 thing.

So it seems my only problem is the executable file ndstool.exe but I don't know anything about this. I was wondering if there is an alternative way of replacing the arm7.bin file in NDS roms or if anyone knows of how I can fix this issue I keep having? If you could even tell me how I could write my own executable file to replace the ndstool.exe one I'll give anything a try at the moment. Thanks!

EDIT: This may need to be moved to the NDS Hacking forum.

well i was too lazy to use dslazy so i found this application which automatically applies arm7/ arm9 to the rom

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZR1TO8SD

download it and extract it.
you will have a folder with 3 files inside, copy the gta rom in to that folder and rename the rom to
xpa-gtac , then run "xpa-gtac.bat", a black window(cmd) will pop up and it will close automatically when is done patching the rom. now when is done you will have a new patched gta rom inside the folder so copy it to the flashcard and play.
it worked for my m3real

Ok it worked for GTA, but I'm actually looking to add the arm7.bin to Enchanted Folk School of Wizardry. I tried renaming Enchanted Folk to xpa-gtac.bat, just in case, and it didn't work either. Do you know if there's anyway I can modify the code for this executable so that it's replacing the arm7.bin to Enchanted Folk instead of GTA CW?

DSBuff is giving me the "not a valid Win32 application" error too

Damn. Thanks a lot for your help though, I really thought DSBuff was going to work!

did you try to change the program's compatibility thingy?
right click on dslazy.exe or dsbuff and click on proprieties, a new windows will pop up, now select the compatibily tab, now thick that box that says "run this program in compatibily mode for:" and select windows XP (windows 2000) and then click ok. now try running dslazy or dsbuff

it might work

did you restart you pc after installing the .net 2.0 framework ? if not try restarting and see if that works

btw whts the size of an arm9 and arm7 file?

Just tried changing the compatibility but it didn't work either.

The arm7 file is 163kb. I have no idea what else I could do, but I really appreciate you helping me so far! At least you're trying.

EDIT: And regarding the .net 2.0, I installed it ages ago so there's no need to restart.

And thanks Flaregon, I'm going to give a few a try now.

Ok so I just got the newest DSBuff... (I got V 0.5 before) and this is what it tells me in the error log:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
