Hello I bought a friend an Acekard 2i and it looks like the tape saying Acekardi and all those things is positioned a bit different of where it should be.

If you see, it isnt in a perfect position, does it happen with all acekards?

I am not sure if it ia fake or not, but it has the tape covering the code:

I didnt check it yet because I dont want to delete the code when I take out the tape. I have updated the flashcard to support 3DS v4.2.0-9 in its official website www.acekard.com and it has AKAIO 1.8.9 and it says HW: 81. Is it fake?

Which is the difference between a fake acekard and a real one?

Thanks

If everything updates fine then it's a real card. To be sure, just enter the code to double check. It's not like your AK2i will explode or anything if you don't have a code.

I meant maybe when I remove the tape the code isn't readeable because maybe I can accidentally delete it, and so I cannot check.

But then, you can't read the code without removing the tape.
It is a Catch22 for you.

However, the label is often a little awry in many real AK2i and the fact that there is tape supposedly covering a code makes me believe that you have a legitamate product.

Why not remove the tape and enter the code on the AceKard website and feel confident that you have a legitamate card?
What have you got to lose?

Why do you suspect that you may have a conterfeit flashcart?
Did you purchase if from a dicey source?
Did you pay way less than the going rate?

Most legitamate dealers sell what they advertise.
Those that are looking to make a quick buck with bogus products usually do not stay around for very long.
If you paid a fair price from an established dealer you have little to worry about receiving a counterfeit flashcart.

Did that help? Take a chance, run the code on the website, and share your results with the rest of us here on the forum.

How do I remove the tape? The code is printed in the flashcard or in another thing above the tape?

it is impossible to judge the legitimacy of a cart based on the position of the applied stickers.

please see this blog article: http://gbatemp.net/blog/140/entry-7754-factory-acekards/

the anti-counterfeit code is printed on a clear sticker under the holographic logo sticker. it is possible to peal them both off by mistake. check this wiki for more information: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Anti-counterfeit_code

Ok, I'm going to try it.
BTW, do you have any idea when will acekard team release the patch for 3DS v4.3.0-10??

We are all waiting for the patch.

The stickers are placed by human, not by machine, so sometimes the labels aren't in the center. Remember to enter the code without spaces.
