Actually every slot1 card patches games, its just usually hidden from the end user.

Slow motion was removed because I dont use it and I don't feel like adding it back to the official loader whenever they update it. If they want to add slow motion fine I'll help them but I don't intend of adding slow motion back in too much hassle.

The AKRPG would require save patching like the AK2 to work properly with BBDX this could be done but it really isnt my job to do that.

Exactly my point. You or Smiths shouldn't be needing to think about this at all as it isn't you guys' jobs but the AK team haven't done it to the RPG yet so that really bakes my potatoes.

As for the slo mo, I don't know about yourself but I would certainly use it because it would be really fun to play around with and I don't think I would ever go back to the official firmware if AKAIO had slo mo. I already prefer your guys' work over AK teams'. I and MANY OTHER USERS, would really enjoy it if you had the spare time to, maybe you could add it in for us to enjoy. If it isn't working right or whatnot then you can forget it, no need to spend annoying time on it but if it is working fine and you just need to add it in the firmware, if you had any time do you think it would be a possibility?

I don't see what fuss is about, I was able to play Daigasso just fine on my RPG. Not that I care because I think it's a crappy rhythm game anyway, but it works and everything.

Seriously?!?!??!?!

I didn't even try because everyone said it didn't save. Wow, if the save works that's the last time I listen to people without trying it myself. Will try first thing when I get time. WOW. Let's hope it works.

The game works, Its just you can't download any songs.
Oh I see, so I have been misunderstanding somethings then. I am sure there is a save file/cheat to get all the songs anyway. Thanks for the clear up.

PS: What programming language are you guys coding AKRPG firmwares in? I want to know because I am interested in knowing what language the slo mo code is in.

Slow Motion and the Cheat engine are in ARM Assembly, The gui is in C/C++. The vast majority of code is C/C++ but any code that gets patched into the rom is in ARM Assembly.

Alright thanks for all your help. BTW, have you guys given your source to AK team or have you not released it to anyone?

Well, I see that my predictions regarding the AK+ and RPG were completely correct as in decreased support for lower selling carts v. their actually somewhat popular cart. Now if they could only fix the crap build quality of their carts.

Beyond that, I still don't see the point in paying 4 times as much for an RPG v. AK2 just to get 1GB of built flash (not needed if you actually get a decent uSD IMO) and open source firmware. From what I have heard/read the firmwares are very similar, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the RPG discontinued before long and the AK2 firmware fork open sourced... now if they could just get their $^&*#^%$* build quality fixed, and I'd buy an AK2 to go along with my other slot-1 carts when I order a memor32 for my PS2...

[EDIT]
BTW how's that ever so easy to implement realtime save going?
[/EDIT]

Next time, just keep your nonsensical complaints to yourself. Or better yet, if it will shut you up I will bet you $20 that I can toss my RPG out my window, go downstairs+pick it up, stick it in my DS and it will work. So how about it, or do you have any more asinine non-issues to complain about?

Since AK2 uses same save format as a few other cards, if your other card fails to run a game or AK2 fails to run a game, you can easily move the memory card over.

If you're using only one, there's no merit to that but I found it appealing (previous R4 user)

Acekard RPG saves are the same "format," too, it's just that the RPG uses a savelist file to determine how large the save should be rather than just making them all 512KB. Other than the size, though, they're the same. You can transfer saves from almost any other card to the RPG and it will read them fine. In fact, it will even trim the save file down to its proper size the next time you run the game. You can save a lot of space that way, too. All the saves on my RPG take up 9MB, but if each one was 512KB they'd be over 40MB. That's enough room saved for one or two extra games!

...word is bondage...

Well I like how I just need to change the file name and I'm good to go, just need to stick the memory card in a different flash cart. No need copying or having one game duplicated in multiple places, etc.

And the 512kb save thing is quite annoying, all games slow down when saving because it's filling extra at least 256KB with FFs.
